Orange Crispy Nugget Stir-Fry

Take your favorite crispy jack nuggets on an adventure in this new Orange Nugget Stir-Fry, all from the comfort of your home. This delicious meal combines a zesty, homemade orange sauce with our nuggets, accompanied by rice and veggies to create a delicious stir-fry.

Ingredients

  • 1 package of jack & annie’s crispy jack nuggets
  • Juice of 2 oranges
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar or white wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp finely minced fresh ginger (or ¼ tsp powdered ginger)
  • 2 garlic cloves finely minced or (¼ tsp garlic powder)
  • ½ tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Zest of 1 orange

Preparation

  1. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, stir together the juice from the  oranges, sugar, rice vinegar or white wine vinegar, soy sauce, ginger and garlic. If desired, add red chili flakes for a bit of  spice.
  2. Heat the sauce mixture for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth.
  4. Add the cornstarch mixture to the heated sauce ingredients, stirring well. Continue heating for another 5 minutes until the sauce starts to thicken.
  5. Remove the sauce from heat and stir in the orange zest. Set aside.
  6. In a large skillet preheated over medium-high heat, add 1 tsp of oil and the frozen stir-fry vegetables. Stir occasionally until the vegetables are heated through. Transfer the vegetables to a plate and keep them warm.
  7. In the same skillet at medium-high heat, add 1 tsp of oil and the jack & annie’s crispy jack nuggets. Cook for 4 minutes on each side until heated through.
  8. Return the stir-fry vegetables to the skillet and pour in the orange sauce. Stir everything together until the nuggets and vegetables are evenly coated with the sauce.
  9. Serve the orange chicken over a bed of cooked rice and garnish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
